The concept was simple...an entryway bench with room for storage under a hinged lid. Dave and I talked things through and he worked up some drawings that far exceeded my expectations. The final piece is an exceptionally designed piece of furniture that combines the best of form and function in a way that only a master furniture maker can pull off. Solid cherry with a gorgeous bookmatched top, maple accents, elegant curves. It's far and away the nicest piece of furniture in our house. And Dave surprised me by adding a soft-close hinge for safety. Dave is an excellent communicator, a brilliant craftsman, and a really nice guy who puts his all into everything be builds. Top marks!
Dave is a phenomenally nice guy, and a skilled carpenter/woodworker. He makes beautiful furniture and other items, yet very graciously took on the tiny, but tedious job of making a replacement drawer front for one of my kitchen drawers, that had fallen off and gone missing for ages. He asked questions, and made sure that he could recreate the drawer perfectly, and was friendly, professional and very very reasonably priced. I wouldn't hesitate to call him for any woodworking job.
